Florence Highlights (3 hours)
Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in one of Leader Car Service’s discreet, luxury cars at around 10.00am and take you on a tour of the highlights of Florence in total comfort.
A morning tour of Florence includes not only driving along the Lungarno, the bank of the river, but also the buildings that mark the Medici’s presence in the Tuscan city, beginning with Palazzo Medici Riccardi and the not to be missed Church of San Lorenzo. From here we enter the very heart of Florence – Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery, places that are the envy of the world.
The tour then crosses the Arno to visit Palazzo Pitti and the enchanting Boboli Gardens, as well as Borgo degli Albizi and Palazzo Sforza di Almeni. Back across the river, the tour ends in Piazza SS. Annunziata, with its bronze statue of Ferdinando I de’ Medici.
The tour ends at around 1.00pm in the heart of the historic centre, and our staff can also give you recommendations for trattorias where you can enjoy typical Florentine cuisine.
Florence Highlights (8 hours)
For those who would like to continue after lunch, the tour can be extended to the splendid areas around Florence.
The first must see is of course Chianti, one of the most beautiful, fascinating places in the whole of Tuscany, and the town of Greve in Chianti, the centre of one of the world’s best known wine producing areas. The tour takes in the Via Chiantigiana, a picturesque, unforgettable route that offers stunning scenic views, with stops at the most famous wineries.
The second stop is Mugello, the hilly area to the north of Florence, with its fascinating villages such as Scarperia and Borgo San Lorenzo, where time seems to have stood still, and where you can find quality local crafts and food products.
The journey back to Florence after the tour of Mugello is via the A1 motorway from Barberino di Mugello. On your return to the city, you will be dropped off at your hotel after a wonderful day spent in the luxury and comfort provided by Leader Car Service.
